SUMMER STAFF 2010 UPDATES

Jeff --

We have moved back to Brantford and are still seeking where God might lead us in the longer term. Jeff is driving part time for L and L Shuttle and Charter. L and L provides Shuttle services between Mohawk College campuses as well as charter work for the Brant School Board, Mohawk Athletics, Redeemer and McMaster special events. Sherri and the kids are well into their 80 home school books and are also spending lots of time with Grandmas and Grandpas, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins!
We miss the Day Camp mornings as well as our after dinner walks to watch the sun set over the lake. But know that the Balfour family is still singing the camp songs, enjoying our summer photos, thinking and praying for you through this autumn season. Grace to you!

Scott --

All too quickly I have been swept up in the flurry of school life. Hitting the books took a couple weeks to get readjusted to--a small desk in a musty library is a poor trade for the Sauble shoreline. However, I still am able ride my old blue bike daily, read dog-eared books and draw in my little black sketchbooks. One thing that I am really excited for is the progress I am making for my Senior Art Exhibit which is set to be shown in April.
I dearly miss the friendship, hospitality and support of the Sauble Beach community, it has made a lasting impression on me and it remains consistently on my heart and in my prayers.

Chantelle --

Right after leaving Huron Feathers at the end of the summer (which was hard because of how great being a member of the Sauble community was), I returned back to McMaster university to begin my final year of the social work \ sociology degrees program. I began a placement at the social planning and research council of Hamilton, where I am researching and doing community development work with the street involved and homeless youth population in Hamilton. I have been quite busy with placement and coursework, but have been enjoying it very much.
I often look back at the summer and reflect on all the amazing things God did for us at Huron Feathers. We were blessed with a huge amount of support from the community, which I am still so thankful for. Such a great summer with many amazing people to share it with!
